What STL keeps

STL keeps the shape. Colors, materials, printer settings and project details are left behind. Keep your original 3MF.

Supports 3MF Core meshes and some simple PrusaSlicer 2.9.6 projects. Some Bambu Studio projects and other slicer features are not supported.

THE DETAILS

Good to know before you print.

What changes when I convert 3MF to STL?

STL contains triangle geometry. Colors, materials, printer settings and 3MF project structure are not preserved. Keep the original 3MF if those details matter.

Will the size stay the same?

Supported 3MF units and object transforms are converted to millimeter coordinates. STL does not declare a unit, so choose millimeters when importing the output.

Why was my 3MF not supported?

Some slicers add proprietary project parts, modifiers or extensions. This tool stops when it cannot safely determine what should be exported. Open the original project in its slicer and export STL there.

Does conversion repair my model?

No. Conversion changes the file format; it does not repair holes, validate manufacturing or guarantee a successful print.
